Thank You Scituate for Helping to Raise Over $40,000
for the Scituate Library Foundation!

More than 250 library supporters and friends attended the Foundation's Fourth Annual Spring Gala Dinner Dance at the Barker Tavern in Scituate Harbor May 12th, 2006.

The evening also included a Silent Auction, with an impressive list of donations from both personal and corporate supporters. Items such as tickets to Red Sox, Celtics, Boston College and Boston University tickets, a day at sea on a private yacht, an original portrait of Lincoln (pictured left), so many donations that were instrumental in adding over $10,000.00 to the endowment goal.

Guest author Doris Kerns-Goodwin, (Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln; 2005) was the main attraction of the evening. Art Dunphy interviewed the nationally-known historian and authour in what proved to be a highly praised and interesting program.
